Remembering Jennifer Riordan

The Grants Collective and the nonprofit community across New Mexico mourn the loss of Jennifer Riordan. Jennifer frequently shared her time and expertise with The Grants Collective, hosting a Brown Bag luncheon for us and serving on our Funders’ Panels for the Talent Academy. She was a champion in supporting the creation of The Grants Collective, writing a letter of support to the EDAct Council, which ultimately awarded the seed funding for our organization.

Here you can see her at our Talent Academy’s March 2018 Funders’ Panel, joyfully sharing her knowledge and expertise with us. Her passion and love for our community were evident in everything she did. She served as a mentor for so many and routinely made herself open and accessible to share guidance. We will miss her presence immensely and are grateful for her selfless contributions to our organization and community.

Cooperative Network Spotlight

#winning #TalentAcademy #grantswork

We love to highlight members and community stakeholders in our Cooperative Network and showcase their great work across the community!  This month, we highlight members of our second Talent Academy, who successfully completed the fellowship this April.

The Talent Academy is an intensive fellowship program aimed at local grant writers and fundraisers.  This year’s cohort nearly doubled in size from last year, with 11 nonprofit organizations represented in the program.

These include new and established organizations such as 516 ARTS, ABQ Volunteers, Barelas Community Coalition, Blackout Theatre/The Grant Plant, Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation, CNM, Fathers Building Futures, Five Sandoval Indian Pueblos, Inc., Mandy’s Farm, Nusenda Foundation, and Three Sisters Kitchen.  The new graduates will be counted on to compete for and secure new funding from the federal government and large foundations.  [Read More]
