October 4, 12:00-1:00 pm: Brown Bag Lunch – Grant Readiness
Is your organization “grant ready?” We’ll discuss eligibility for grants, organizational structures and documents to have in place, how grants fit into a larger organizational fundraising plan, and tools you can use to continually improve your organization’s readiness to successfully apply for, receive, and manage grants. This event is free for Cooperative Network members. Guests may purchase tickets at EventBrite for $10. Bring your lunch!
October 5, 4:00-6:00 pm: Happy Hour/Open House – Meet the New Talent Academy Fellows!
Join us for an informal evening and meet the new Talent Academy cohort. This is a great time to network, and meet others interested in or working in the grant writing field. Refreshments will be provided. This is a free event and open to everyone!
October 10, 1:30-3:00 pm: Curbside Consulting
Have you ever needed more eyes on your current grant projects? Network members can come to our office for a free, 30-45 minute consultation and we’ll match you with expert advice to talk about your project. Come prepared to talk about a grant application or concept, have us review a draft, or work through tricky pieces with you.
Not a member? Curbside Consulting is also a great time to get a hands-on demonstration of the Online Platform – designed to make grant seeking easier for you! Let us know you’re coming and we’ll give you a tutorial to see if membership in the Cooperative Network will help you achieve your grant seeking goals.
October 11, 12:00-1:00pm: Brown Bag Lunch – Learnings from the CHANGE Unity Summit
Last week, The Grants Collective Program Manager, Robert Nelson, attended the CHANGE Unity Summit in New Orleans, a gathering of foundations and supporting philanthropic organizations (SPOs) to showcase work on racial equity and racial justice throughout the nonprofit sector. Join us for a special Brown Bag Lunch as we share info about the Summit and how it could affect New Mexico nonprofits’ work. You are welcome to bring your lunch!
October 17 – Save the Date! How Can the Congressional Delegation Support Your Work?
Stephen Jochem from the New Mexico Congressional Delegation office will be available to discuss his office’s role in supporting nonprofits in New Mexico. Time is TBD. We’ll send out a special update with the details!

Federal Grants.gov Training
Thank you to all who attended the Grants.gov workshop! We remain thankful to trainer Patricia Glass who came all the way from the D.C. area to familiarize New Mexico nonprofits with the new Workspace platform. Did you miss the training, or do you want to learn more? We can offer a future training designed to answer questions about registration processes, finding and applying for grants using Grants.gov, and covering the new platform in a more intimate setting. Interested? Let us know!
As a member, you will receive preferred access to our trainings and all are included in your membership fee. You will also be able to utilize our platform for nonprofit professionals! With the online platform, you’ll be able to:
- Access upcoming grant opportunities from our online calendar and research non-deadline driven opportunities. These are all screened for New Mexico eligibility, eliminating the work on your end.
- Access grant seeking resources that are all in one convenient site – federal budget forms, data research tools, best practice articles, and more.
- Connect and collaborate with other grant professionals in our community and share resources and knowledge. You can directly message other members or tag them on grant opportunities that you’d like to discuss. Ask questions about your grant proposals or processes and receive feedback from a larger grant seeking community!

We’re currently seeking supporters for the Talent Academy – your contribution will go to a scholarship fund to help nonprofits build their internal capacity to access the funding they need to deliver on their missions. Grant seeking is neither easy or intuitive. Help our organizations access the funding they deserve!
We offer three primary ways to participate:
Cooperative Network: A subscription-based network of nonprofit professionals interested in developing skills, insight, and resources for high-performance grant seeking.
Talent Academy: A 6-month professional fellowship to develop skills for securing major grants.
Grow New Mexico: Technical assistance to help New Mexican communities and organizations put together grant/loan packages for infrastructure and other special projects. Grow New Mexico is an independent, fiscally sponsored project.
