Tell us a little about yourself and your organization.
Generation Justice is a multiracial, multicultural project that trains youth to harness the power of community and raise critical consciousness through leadership development, civic engagement, media production and narrative shift in the areas that most impact New Mexicans- racial justice, health, education, and economic security.
What kind of funding do you typically look for? Are your running into any barriers in securing that funding? What element of The Grants Collective is helping you overcome that barrier?
We are always looking to build capacity and gain funding through grants and fundraising support. We face the classic challenge that most small organizations face: finding enough funding and capacity to apply for funding to focus on our mission. The Grant Collective helps us overcome the challenge of finding funding by compiling funding opportunities in one place so that we don’t have to spend time and resources searching for grant opportunities.
What advice/suggestions would you give local nonprofit organizations (or other agencies) that are looking for funding?
Utilize resources such as the Grant Collective and work together – we are all working towards the similar missions of a better New Mexico and a better future for our state. The best practice we can pursue is to uplift each other!
Please sum up The Grants Collective in one sentence or phrase.
A collective that helps support local nonprofits, helps us to find our footing, and offers guidance for funding.
